Is this just me or does this just not add up? Just hear me out:
Chalres is supposedly 15 months older that Jason which puts him somewhere around 25. The show is set in 2012 right now beofre the time jump happens, so that means that Ali dissappeared when Charles was approximately 21/22 since she would have dissappeared in 2009. If on "that night" Bethany and another patient escaped, how can that be Charles if he faked his death at 16 which would have been 5/6 years previously. Are we saying that he came back and broke her out? If not are we saying that he was admitted again under a different name and if so WHY? WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO BACK THERE?
That being said he would have "died" when Alison, Bethany and Lesli were around 10 years old. If we are saying that Bethany and Lesli were there when Chalres was there or in there "long enough to know Charles" are we saying that they're been in or in and out of Radley all their life?
Or am I just over thinking things? Any thoughts?
Good observation. Keep in mind though that the Radley staff obviously would have known that Charles' departure and Charlotte's arrival were no coincidence; they're the same person. So when Charles DiLaurentis checked out and Charlotte DiLaurentis checked IN, it just adds to the information they need to keep about that patient and their tendencies should anything ever happen to them.
When Bethany snuck out that night, Radley staff also noticed that Charlotte did as well. When Lesli heard them talking about Charlotte's escape, one of the staff must have said something along the lines of "How long has she been here? She isn't in our patient records for longer than a few years." And someone probably replied with "Check under the name "Charles". They've been here for years and they know each other well."
I'm sure Lesli only caught part of the conversation... Enough to know her roommate Bethany, that there was someone named "Charles", and she assumed that whenever the pronoun "she" was tossed around, it was referring to "Bethany" when it could have been about Charlotte. If Lesli eavesdropped from Radley when everyone was on lockdown, then she didn't overhear everything crystal clear... and keep in mind, we have no idea how unstable Lesli was back then so her memories are unreliable.
As for Charlotte being the CEO of the Carissimi Group, I agree it's sketchy... CeCe said she needed to rack up some serious cash in mid-way season 3. Keep in mind that she acquired $50,000 from Jason when she took the reward money for delivering "Alison's" remains... She apparently filled up some seats with pretty wealthy people during the trunk show... and got a ton of cash from Ezra for spying on the girls for him and relaying information. CeCe never needed Alison's help when it came to money... She needed her help in getting a fake ID and plane ticket, since she couldn't afford to be seen at the time while she was on the lam.
Charlotte never needed the cash from Carissimi, but it certainly helped further her plans. She was probably Vivian Darkbloom (or a different alias that her mother provided her) in the Carissimi database, hired Rhys Matthews as a decoy, and asked him to provide her with privacy should anyone ever ask to contact her directly. No one would ever know she was CeCe Drake if she wore the Vivian Darkbloom wig whenever she went into work.
